BioVersys has won several prestigious awards:
Marc Gitzinger won an intense business development trip to Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhan and Hong Kong, co-organized with swissnex China. He met with local investors, dove into China's entrepreneurial ecosystem and learned about the opportunities of doing business there.
“The objective of venture leaders is to showcase the diversity and the quality of Swiss high-tech innovation at an international level. The program also shows the interest of these startups for global markets such as China”, explains Jordi Montserrat, Managing Director of venturelab.
The 10 high-tech entrepreneurs have been carefully selected among more than 60 high profile applications and travelled to China in November 2016.

For 8 years, the Innovation Prize rewards project holders in the field of Healthcare (Biotech, Medtech, E-Health). Open to young start-ups (< 8 years old) and academic laboratories, this competition became a main Life Science event, involving 38 countries and 259 participants in 2016. Universal Biotech team and jury members have chosen BioVersys AG with their collaborateurs in Lille (Pr. Nicolas Willand) as the winner of the 2016 edition of the Innovation Prize. The project has been selected after three phases of intense assessment on the basis of the following five criteria:
- Scientific quality of the innovation
- Team Quality
- The intellectual property strategy
- The feasibility of your project
- The probability of success on the market.
By winning the Innovation Prize, a total of €30 000 of awards has been granted.
In addition to above mentioned prizes, BioVersys was awarded the following:
- the 8th Swiss TB Award in March 2009 together with Prof. Wilfried Weber
- CHF 130'000.- for the Stage III of Venture Kick in May 2009
- the Heuberger Winterthur Jungunternehmerpreis in November 2009
- the Jungunternehmerpreis Nordwestschweiz in November 2012
The Swiss Technology Award is awarded annually to the best innovations and developments at Swiss companies, high schools, universities and other institutions. The ceremony takes place at the leading Swiss innovation event, the Swiss Innovation Forum. BioVersys won in the category start-up in 2011.
The CTI startup label is awarded by the Swiss agency CTI (Commission for Technology and Innovation) after a thorough analysis and validation of the solidity and maturity of the business plan and a company's processes. It is a certificate of achievement, and a sign of credibility and readiness for sustainable growth.
Each year, startup.ch launches the TOP 100 STARTUP AWARD in cooperation with the Handelszeitung. From over 100,000 young companies, the 100 most innovative and promising Swiss startups are picked by top startup experts.
