BioVersys is a privately owned clinical-stage Swiss pharmaceutical company focusing on research and development of small molecules acting on novel bacterial targets with applications in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and targeted microbiome modulation. With the company’s award-winning TRIC technology we can overcome resistance mechanisms, block virulence production and directly affect the pathogenesis of harmful bacteria towards the identification of new treatment options in the antimicrobial and microbiome fields. By this means, BioVersys addresses the high unmet medical need for new treatments against life-threatening resistant bacterial infections and bacteria-exacerbated chronic inflammatory microbiome disorders. Our most advanced research and development programs address nosocomial infections of Acinetobacter baumannii (BV100, Phase II-ready), and tuberculosis (BVL-GSK098, Phase I) in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and a consortium of the University of Lille.

The chemistry department is integrated in the U1177 “Drugs & Molecules for Living Systems” based at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lille. We are a passionate team, discovering solutions to life-threatening AMR bacterial infections by focusing on research and development of novel small molecules that exert their effect through a new target/mode of action.

Your role:

You will be part of the research team located in Lille which includes 3 chemists, a microbiologist and a clinical research manager. As a member of the team, you will be expected to contribute towards the synthesis of potential new drugs as well as support additional microbiological activities.   • Fluent in French (spoken and written);
  • Good oral and written communication in English;
  • Basic administrative skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide support to the Chemistry and Biological team (e.g.,):
    • Synthesize, purify and characterize organic bioactive molecules, including preparation of clearly articulated experimental reports and data presentations, and maintenance of accurate and timely records of experimental designs, and experimental results;
    • Prepare standard biological media.
  • Support management of the laboratory (e.g.,):
    • ordering building blocks;
    • handle stock of chemicals and of synthesized compounds;
    • prepare and follow up shipment of compounds.
  • Take care of general administrative tasks for the Lille site (e.g.,):
